Setting up audio capture in the desktop app — Help Centre

Install the desktop app and grant the permissions that let it hear both sides of the call.

1. Download the native desktop app from the downloads page. Windows is available now; the macOS build is still in platform verification.

2. On first launch, grant microphone permission — this is how the app hears you.

3. On macOS, also grant Screen Recording permission. That is how the app reads system audio to hear the prospect, with no bot joining the call. It captures no video: the video tracks are stopped the moment the stream is acquired.

4. Wear headphones. On open speakers the microphone picks up the prospect loudly enough to confuse who said what, and the suggestions degrade accordingly.

5. Start your call as normal in Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or your dialler. The suggestion overlay appears on its own — there is nothing to add to the meeting.

6. If nothing is transcribing, re-check your OS privacy settings for microphone access, and Screen Recording access on macOS.
